LA CENERENTOLA (CINDERELLA) presented by Guildford Opera Company

Finding the right wife for a Prince isn’t straightforward! In Rossini’s comic opera based on Cinderella, the Prince’s solution is to throw a dance and invite all the eligible young women. But ahead of that he sends a close friend disguised as a beggar to run a kindness test, and then masquerades as his own valet to check for himself. He’s smitten – but so is the real valet – and then there’s the stepfather and stepsisters to contend with…

Sung in English and accompanied by chamber orchestra, this much-loved fairytale features dazzling music and all the wit and verve for which Rossini was renowned.

There will be a pre-show talk at 6:30pm with the director and musical director prior to Friday's performance.
